The methodologies and tools range from qualitative and highly collaborative such as the Octave™ method to purely quantitative analysis using pre-formed model templates.

Aren’t Risk Assessment, Security Survey, and Security Audit the same thing?

A good question. Part of the confusion is that the terms are used interchangeably by many vendors. eVestigations® takes a more formal approach to these services. 

When we speak of risk assessment we mean a methodology that assists the planning process in determining where an organization should spend its limited budget to have the greatest reduction of business risk.

Our security survey is a "health check" that identifies areas that need to be remedied. These areas are often essential and often the recommendations are "quick fix" in nature.

Our security audit references best practices, regulations or standards (the basis of audit) in a very rigorous manner where compliance to each and every element is documented.
